PREVENTING AUTO THEFT

Public awareness is a crucial part of preventing auto theft and the crimes that come with it. In addition to following the common sense tips listed below, you can ensure you are prepared in case your vehicle is ever stolen by remembering your license plate number and activating the account for your factory-installed tracking system. Most manufacturers offer a free trial period and you can provide police with the password to aid in the recovery of your vehicle. In the event your vehicle is stolen, call 9-1-1 immediately, report the theft to your insurance company, and do not try to recover the stolen vehicle yourself.
